Impact of Lexical Features on Answer Detection Model in Discussion Forums

Online forums have become the main source of knowledge over Internet as data are constantly flooded into them. In most cases, a question in web forum receives several responses, making it impossible for poster to obtain suitable answer. Thus, an important problem is how automatically extract appropriate and high-quality answers thread. Prior studies used different combinations both lexical nonlexical features retrieve relevant from discussion forums, hence, there no standard/general set that could be effectively answer/reply post classification. However, this study proposed answer detection model exclusively relying on employs random forest classifier classification boards. Experimental results showed outperformed baseline technique other state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms terms accuracy benchmark datasets.
